Len Creo was born in New York, New York in 1923. After serving in the U. S. Army during World War II, Creo returned to New York to study at The Art Student's League. He then studied for three years in Mexico with Gutierez and Sequierros and then in Italy for a year with Pietro Annigonni. .

In 2007, the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts (Hartford, Connecticut) exhibited 17 paintings by the artist whic are owned by the New Britain Museum of American Art.

Len Creo passed away at his home in England surrounded by his loved ones on December 18, 2019. Len was 96.

A true force of nature for most of his life – a WW2 veteran, a world champion race walker, and an artist whose joy filled works are instantly recognizable, Len will be missed by those of us who knew him, and those of us who loved his art.
