Born in 1937 in Ramat-Gan, Israel, Faktorowicz studied ceramics with Israeli's leading sculptor, A. Doctor and Z. Guri, a noted ceramist in Israel. From 1973 to 1977 Ruth studied at the Ramat-Gan Art School where she studied sculpture and modern art. She ultimately came to specialize in ceramic reliefs, ranging from miniature tiles to building ornamentation.

Faktorowicz was a member of the Israel Ceramic Artists organization. Her works have been exhibited in both solo and group shows at local Israeli galleries, as well as internationally in Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Switzerland, New Zealand, and Australia.

The artist’s ceramic reliefs are molded out of brown earthen clay sourced locally, fired to bisque at 900 degrees Celsius, hand painted with different glazes, and fired a second time at 1050 degrees Celsius.

A small gallery in East Lansing, Michigan, called Saper Galleries has been responsible for sharing Faktorowicz’ ceramics with an American audience. According to the owner Roy Saper, “Many hundreds of visitors to Saper Galleries have acquired the bas-relief wall tiles created by Ruth Faktor since we built our present gallery building in 1986 and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do.” Saper made a trip to Israel in 2011 and acquired over 150 ceramics to be shipped to the U.S. to allow Americans access to her charming works of art.
